Camps Bay
Camps Bay is an affluent suburb of Cape Town and is the premier tourist destination in South Africa. It is magnificently located on the Atlantic Ocean, at the foot of the Twelve Apostles mountain range and adjacent to Table Mountain. Camps Bay is renowned for its white sandy beaches fringed by palm trees and in summer it attracts a large number of foreign visitors as well as South Africans looking for a beach holiday. The Nelson villa has a small, almost private beach right in front of the apartment that is the perfect spot to have a cooling dip in the Atlantic Ocean. Amenities, such as the large deck overlooking the ocean and the beach make sure you get the best out of your beach holiday in Camps Bay.
Camps Bay is a suburb of Cape Town, with a village feel, offering a convenient location only 15 minutes drive to the city center, 20 minutes from the V&A Waterfront, 30 minutes from the airport, 40 minutes from the Cape Winelands and 60 minutes from Cape Point. Camps Bay is safe, clean and family friendly, so you can safely walk to the Camps Bay beachfront during the day and at night.
Beaches
Camps Bay beach is Cape Town’s answer to St Tropez and one of the many Camps Bay attractions. It offers spectacular views of Lion’s Head and the Twelve Apostles and its fine white sand is packed with beautiful people, especially over weekends and during holidays.
Camps Bay’s long stretch of beach is perfect for sunbathing and its open flatness means that team activities like Frisbee and social beach volleyball can also be enjoyed by the more active visitors.
The sea is, due to Camps Bay’s protected position in the bay, quite calm and good for swimming. At the southern end, you will find a tidal pool. The northern part is great for surfing.
There is a stretch of lawn in front of the beach where picnics are often enjoyed.
Restaurants & Bars
People come to Camps Bay restaurants & bars on the beachfront either because it’s the place to see or to be seen, or to meet friends for a meal, a sundowner or a cappuccino. Sunsets in Camps Bay are a real treat and, if you’ve had enough sand and surf, you can enjoy a sundowner at one of the nearby restaurants or bars.
